Born in Champaign, Illinois and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Isaiah moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to pursue a career in film. After beginning in filmmaking as a Cinematographer, he found himself drawn toward the dark arts of post-production, building experience across color grading, picture editing, technical editing, visual effects, and 3D animation.

Isaiah is a post-production specialist with 10+ years in professional post-production, specializing in ingesting media, transcoding, organizing footage, and prepping for edit in Premiere and DaVinci. He excels at syncing multi-cam footage, creating stringouts and assembly cuts, applying markers, conforming assets for vendor delivery, QC/exporting, and troubleshooting post issues. A proactive team player with strong workflow knowledge, he is comfortable addressing technical notes, supporting editors on fast-paced projects, and bridging production and post. AI-forward in his approach, he actively experiments with emerging tools in Premiere, DaVinci, Unreal Engine, After Effects, ComfyUI, and related workflows to automate repetitive tasks, speed up turnarounds, and improve quality control. He has contributed to projects that have screened at major festivals, including Sundance.

One of the projects Isaiah intentionally chose was Dave Meyers’ My Universe featuring BTS. With BTS involved, he knew this was the chance to finally get recognized by his Korean mom for the work he does. The timeline was brutal and the hours were long. He was temp compositing, and what started as a temporary fix turned into something that actually stayed in the final. He was halfway through wrapping when a friend he hadn’t seen for years showed up in town. He ran back from that visit to finish the render, lock it in, and delivered. Sitting with Dave for hours, doing tight creative calls and making compositing decisions, was tense. There’s no room to hide in temp work, but it pushed him to be faster, sharper, and more decisive under pressure. The project was amazing because of how many different VFX vendors came together, and especially because he finally worked with BUF. Since Gaspar Noé’s Enter the Void, it’s always been his dream to work with them, and collaborating with their team was a career milestone.

His work in music videos and branded content has included collaborations involving major artists and brands such as Apple, Mattel, Lyft, and Dave Meyers. Outside of work, Isaiah is an enthusiast of obscure and underground cinema, always searching for the strangest films he can find, the best sushi and pizza he can afford, and new developments in technologies. He also promises to bring baked ribs to every gathering.

He still thinks fondly of the nights spent at the Eagle Rock house, rendering on multiple MacBook Pros to stretch the budget. It was a scrappy, exhausting experience, but one that left him with a lasting appreciation for the work, the people, and the memory of those long nights.
